Meet the Boobies

We are a group of open-water enthusiasts who swim in the San Francisco Bay from the Albany Bulb. We are fast and slow, wetsuit wearing and skins; we are accomplished, lifelong swimmers, and brand new doggy paddlers; we love the cold and we just barely tolerate it. We think the best swims are ones where a seal sidles up to us and we flee at the first sight of that whiskery nose. We do it for serenity, for mental health, and for the joy of being in nature; we do it for exercise and we do it for playful fun.

Most weekdays you can find a group of us at the Albany Bulb circle at 7am and another group at 8am. Weekends we gather at 8. Sometimes there are treats and coffee; always there are friendly faces, a boisterous community, and plenty of sagging swimsuits. Join us!
